2022 Beyond Coal To Clean Energy
2022 Beyond Coal to Clean Energy
Nature is critical for our well-being, and nature’s well-being depends on us. That’s why our Beyond Coal team is working so hard to defend it from climate change and pollution. What’s more, we’ve had many successes, including announcements this year that two major Wisconsin coal plants will be closing! But there is so much more yet to do, which is why we’re asking you to support our work which includes:
• Shutting down Wisconsin’s four remaining coal plants
• Opposing proposed new gas plants and gas storage facilities
• Working to accelerate the transition to clean energy through efficiency, renewable energy, and energy storage
• Calling on utilities and regulators to set just, fair energy rates and decrease energy burden on low income communities and communities of color
• Achieving energy independence through green energy projects
Your donation is an investment in protecting the places we live, work and play, and enables our dedicated volunteers and staff to represent and advocate for your interests. These funds will not only help us push back against climate-changing fossil fuels, but also work to protect the places we love, advocate for clean drinking water, provide more equitable transit options, and work for a just future for all. Here are some of our Team’s successes:
Centering energy burden in the state’s review of our energy efficiency program
Shifting the narrative around gas and uplifting that it’s a fossil fuel
Supporting new clean energy projects around the state
Our team goal is $750 – and you can help us reach (or even surpass!) that by making a donation. And when you do, let us know why you care about nature in the “Words of Encouragement” box. We’d love to hear from you!
Funds raised will support the Wisconsin Chapter's work across the board. The Sierra Club Wisconsin Chapter is making our communities better – protecting Wisconsin's natural places and working hard to ensure clean air and water for all. When we succeed, Wisconsin succeeds.

Thanks so much!
